Roles and permissions

What each team role — admin, manager, staff, and driver — can see and do.

Every member of your team has a role, and the role decides what they can see and do in the admin dashboard. Choosing the right role for each person keeps sensitive things — your settings, your revenue, your team list — in the right hands.

The four roles

Admin — full access to everything, including settings, staff, revenue, and all day-to-day operations. This is the owner's role and anyone you fully trust to run the business. Keep the number of admins small.

Manager — runs the business day to day, including the parts that involve money like reports and promotions, but cannot change your restaurant Settings or manage Staff. A manager can work orders, manage the menu, run promotions, and see reports.

Staff — day-to-day operations only: taking and preparing orders, managing the menu and inventory, and the Driver Hub. Staff do not see revenue, reports, settings, or the staff list. This is the right role for most of your team.

Driver — delivers orders. Drivers have no access to the admin dashboard at all; they use the separate driver portal to see and complete their assigned deliveries. See Delivery and drivers.

What each role can reach

| Area | Admin | Manager | Staff | Driver | |---|---|---|---|---| | Orders | Yes | Yes | Yes | — | | Menu / Inventory | Yes | Yes | Yes | — | | Driver Hub | Yes | Yes | Yes | — | | Reports | Yes | Yes | — | — | | Promotions | Yes | Yes | — | — | | Settings | Yes | — | — | — | | Staff | Yes | — | — | — | | Admin dashboard | Yes | Yes | Yes | No (driver portal) |

Choosing a role

A good rule of thumb: give someone the least access they need to do their job. Most of your team should be Staff. Reserve Manager for people who run shifts and need reports and promotions. Reserve Admin for owners and the very few people who should change your settings or your team.

Changing someone's role

You change roles on the Staff page — see Inviting your team. Only admins can manage staff and roles.
