Your storefront address
How your web address works on PayperPlates, and what changes when you rename your restaurant.
Every restaurant on PayperPlates gets its own web address where customers browse the menu and order. This guide explains how that address is built and what to expect if it ever changes.
Your default address
Your storefront lives at a web address based on your restaurant's short name, like yourname.payperplates.ca. Customers can open that link on any phone or computer to see your menu and place an order — there is nothing to install.
This is the address to put on your receipts, social media, and Google listing. It is also where the "Order Online" buttons on your own website should point.
Using your own domain
If you already own a domain — say yourrestaurant.com — you can point it at your PayperPlates storefront so customers see your own branded web address instead of the default one. Setting up a custom domain involves a small change with whoever manages your domain's DNS. Contact support to get this connected; it is not something you configure yourself from the dashboard today.
What happens if you rename your restaurant
Your short name is part of your web address, so changing it changes your address. If you rename your restaurant and your address changes, PayperPlates keeps the old address working and automatically forwards it to the new one for a limited time so you do not lose customers who saved the old link.
Because the forward is temporary, update your links everywhere that matters — your Google listing, social profiles, and printed materials — soon after any rename. Once the forwarding period ends, the old address can be reused, so do not rely on it long-term.
Sharing your menu
To share your menu, just send your storefront address. There is no separate "menu link" — the storefront opens directly to your menu, and customers move from browsing to checkout on the same page.
